Take your jewellery making to the next level.

What is Star setting?

A Star setting is one in which a gemstone is placed into the center of an engraved star. The stone is held in place by a small bead of metal at the base of each of the points.

Come and learn how to star set gemstones. You will work with copper sheet and gemstones to hone this challenging yet rewarding jewellery technique. You get to make your own tools to aid setting the stones. All materials you need are provided. A star setting kit is included for you to take home.

In the kit.

Your own graver, beading tool, drill bit, round burr, stone setting burr, degree cutting burr, thick copper sheet, wooden handle, lots of gemstones.

Come with a friend.

We have 7 places available on this workshop. Ideally you will have some jewellery making experience. Star setting is an advance jewellery making technique. This workshop is a great follow on from our 'Introduction to Flush Setting'
