Student Stories: Kate Ford

Kate

Kate is one of our wonderful Thursday night students. Kate has been coming to class for over 18 months now and loves to challenge herself (and us as tutors!) She never shies away from complex pieces!

Originally, Kate's husband Clive bought her a gift voucher for her first class and she hasn't looked back since. A semi retired Nurse Specialist, Kate's jewellery class is her creative release. She is kind to a fault and always making gifts for others. Her spare time is spent with Clive, they go on many adventures together, most recently Iceland and Whitby, and she brings inspiration from her travels back into the class.

Last year we held our 1st student awards ceremony and 'Kate's fish' was the overall winner, it was one of the earlier pieces she made with us in class as a gift for Clive, who is a keen fisherman.

Kate's working life is high pressured but her Thursday evening jewellery classes, help her unwind and tap into her creative side.

Many of our students sign up with no jewellery making experience, but with a notion to try something creative, something different from their day job, something fun.

Making jewellery with your own hands fosters a sense of accomplishment and self-expression, giving you the opportunity to step away from the stresses of daily life, and spend time with like-minded individuals. We help you explore your creativity & relax in a supportive environment where you can enjoy learning something new.

Did you know jewellery making as a hobby can help reduce stress and promotes a positive emotional state. It is an excellent form of self-care. It’s time for you to shine.
